Sterling has nothing to lose as the owner of the Clippers. his team could remain to suck and it wouldn't hurt his pocket. his deal with AEG/Staple Center is so lucrative he has no incentive to bring in a max deal caliber player. i know he's opened his wallet some in recent years but im not convincd hes serious about making the Clips relevant or competitive.

If he actually did care the Clippers would have already been competetive years ago. He cared for about one year. He has way more resources than most owners in NBE. At the end of the day he is making money off the Clippers either in tangible profits or a tax write off. Clippers have had some bad luck over the years but most of their failure has been do to poor management.

Another reason why Stern is a turrible commissioner. It couldn't be more obvious that Sterling doesn't care for his team or the five Clipper fans. Yet Stern sits on his smug ass and let's him do it. If Stern had any testicles, or cared about the Clipper franchise, he would force Sterling to sell the team. The NBA could make a lot of money if both LA teams were good.

Stern is all about making money and marketing to make money. He wants to globalize the game to make more money. Stern would have done a lot of things differently if he actually cared about the quality of his league. The league is less popular now than it was in the 90's. He can market the stars of today all he wants but they are not going to be as popular. Eventually some teams will either fold or have to be moved because of lack of interest. Football looks like the only team sport that is bulletproof. As long as economy slumps all these leafues are going to have some major issues to deal with. Sterling is not the only owner who does not care about his fans or winning.

But here is an opportunity for the NBA to capatalize on a basketball crazy market. Now would be the time for Stern to do something.

Basketball market is not as crazy as you think. Clippers will never be anything more than a pimple on the Lakers ass. Clippers mania lasted for about a month and died quickly. Compare ratings now with those in the 90's. Not even close.NBA is looking overseas to generate revenue in the future. Untapped market and no competition from NFL.

Not if they were to land Lebron. Most L.A. fans will go where the hype is. And Lebron on the Clippers would generate a lot of hype. Plus, it would mean more Kobe v. Lebron match ups.

Imagine it because it is never going to happen. I like the Clippers and would love to see that happen but have no faith in Sterling to get this done. I think Blake is the real dean but he has done nothing yet at the NBA level. Clips would still have the waste of cap space that is Baron Davis as well.

Larry King DID ask him about the possibility of goinh to the LA Clippers, and he kinda grinned and just gave props to Blake. Who's gonna coach this cursed team? Anyone?

IF, big phuckan if. I think that it is a pipedream. Lakers are still the team in L.A. whether or not King Nothing is here or not. I heard all this crap when the Kings got Gretzky and in the end Ducks were the team to bring a Cup to Southern California. King nothing creates a buzz and make Clips somewhat relevant but not a championship contender. Gretzky brought a lot of bandwagon fans to the Kings and created some interest that was not there before but in the end yhe Kings were worse off when they traded him than they were before they got him. With Jame's ego I doubt that he wants to come to a city where he will play second fiddle to Kobe.

I'll coach if Sterling wants to give me some of his cash. I doubt that I would do worse of a job than Dumbleavy did. If by some miracle King Nothing comes I will just let him coach and take the credit.

Clipper Darrell's $12,000 custom car is just the tip of the iceberg

By Yahoo

You know Clipper Darrell. Sure you do. He's been to 385 straight Los Angeles Clippers home games, by far more than anyone on the roster of L.A.'s other team. Every game, he's the one in the shiny red and blue suit, leading cheers and generally being the happiest guy to ever attend a Clippers game. He's the guy that organized the LeBron James parade from a few weeks back. Sorry, Billy Crystal, but Clipper Darrell is the Clippers' biggest celebrity fan, even if he's only famous for being a Clippers fan.

So yeah, you know who he is. But you don't really know him. And trust me, you have no idea how much it costs to be the Clippers' No. 1 fan. Hint: a lot.

http://sports.yahoo....?urn=nba,248602

Well that's bit of an eye-opener, huh? I mean, buying nine seasons worth of Clippers season tickets is crazy to begin with, but spending $12,000 to customize a BMW 7-series is another level of devotion. And I don't even want to guess how much he's spent on memorabilia. Just know that it's enough to put your collection of six Hawks shirts to shame.

And even if you can't get behind the idea of being this big of a die-hard for a team with all of three winning seasons in the past two decades, you have to admit it's a little bit encouraging that Clipper D's got a wife. There's someone out there for everyone, you guys.

Think I called that one a couple of weeks ago. Perfect fit as he has already coached a young talented team to losing record with Bulls. He also probably comes on board for cheap which is a must with Sterling. Does this mean we ain't getting LeBron?

I think a Shaq and Kamen one two... can get them into the playoffs. I like Vinnie.

You're right. I heard that the Clips are 1 of the few losing franchises that actually made money.

No the Clips actually signed Leron James to a contract. He is Lebron's illegitimate brother and cannot play basketball but Sterling is going to try to fool his 100 fans anyway with a big press conference. seriously when ESPN was showing teams in line to get LBJ and showing him in a photoshopped jersey his picture was not even shown in a Clip jersey. The suck continues.

REVERSE OF THE CURSE!

Clippers signed Brian Cook to a two-year deal worth 2.5million. (no joke)

He made the announcement on a pay phone to a radio station in TJ in front of a Goodwill. Boooyaaa!
Hedley Lamarr: Gentlemen, please rest your sphincters.
